Timber Buyers & Forestry Professionals in Westcliffe, CO

Greenleaf Forestry and Wood Products Inc runs a sawmill in Westcliffe, Colorado, and does forestry consulting and timber buying as well. "Wood products, tree service, and forest management are what we specialize in," is how they put it, and the work covers thinning and removal of overgrowth, fire mitigation and defensible space, insect and disease control for Ips and mountain pine beetles and mistletoe, nursery trees and tree transplanting, forest management plans and Community Wildfire Protection Plans, firewood cutting programs, cutting view corridors, brush and slash clean up, road and trail maintenance, and fencing. They work with ponderosa pine, Douglas-fir, bristlecone pine, white fir, and blue spruce. A job starts with their forest inspection service, which they call the best way to begin active forestry on a property. They say they pay for removed wood at market value or offer credits to help offset the cost of the work, and that ongoing work comes with return visits year after year, an annual review of the plan, and discounts on products at their Westcliffe sawmill. They serve Custer County and have been creating wood products and managing forested properties since 2003. This fits a landowner who wants one outfit to walk the property, handle the fire risk around the house, and take the timber and firewood off at the same time, rather than hiring separate people for each piece.
