Valley Wood Inc

About Valley Wood Inc

Valley Wood Inc is a timber buyer and full service forestry firm listed in Americus, Georgia. Its home office is on University Ave in Columbus, GA, and it has managed timberland since 1955. It buys standing timber and pays top market prices in Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina. Sumter County is the county named for its work. Its foresters handle timber management, timber appraisals, timber cruises and timber evaluations, so you can find out how much timber you have and what it is worth before you decide anything. The other work includes site prep, forest road construction, controlled burning, wildlife habitat, timber stand improvement and logging. The wood it names for buying is paper pulp, chipwood and wood chips. A sale starts with a talk about the harvest that suits you, whether that is a thinning, a cut before a land sale, or a complete harvest. The firm then schedules the cut and replants after the final harvest. Its stated minimum is 20 acres. It holds Georgia Master Timber Harvester certification and lists affiliations with the Georgia Forestry Association, Georgia Forestry Commission, American Tree Farm System, Alabama Forestry Association, Tennessee Forestry Association, South Carolina Forestry Association, Forest Resources Association and Log A Load For Kids. Its post mills are in Summerville and Montrose, and its woodyards are in Dallas, Coosa and Lafayette, all in Georgia. Valley Wood Inc suits a landowner with at least 20 acres who wants one firm to appraise the timber, handle the sale and plan the replanting, and who wants a clear figure on what the wood is worth before signing anything.
