Elberta Box & Crate Company
About Elberta Box & Crate Company
Elberta Box & Crate Company is a mill in Bainbridge, Georgia, at 606 Dothan Road on the Flint River. It was established in 1905. The plant makes wirebound crates and boxes, poly crates, eco crates, clamshells and trays, and leno and plastic bags for produce and seafood shippers across the continental United States. It also runs a veneer mill that makes paper overlaid veneer. The species listed for this mill are blackgum, yellow-poplar, sweetgum, soft maple and sycamore. The area it serves is Decatur County. Its work is manufacturing, not logging, so a landowner would be dealing with a plant that turns wood into packaging and veneer. The Simmons family has been part of the business since it started, and several generations still work there. It suits a Decatur County landowner with these hardwoods who wants a mill close to home and is ready to ask directly through the contact form. From elberta.net, read 17 October 2026.
