Oakcrest Lumber, Inc.
About Oakcrest Lumber, Inc.
Oakcrest Lumber, Inc. is a family owned sawmill and hardwood flooring maker in Buena Vista, Georgia. Wesley Weaver started the company in 1989, and his twin sons, Roland and Russell Weaver, joined him. The family still runs it day to day. It has grown past 210 employees and works from two sites, Buena Vista and Newport, Tennessee. Its listed county is Marion. The Buena Vista mill saws hardwood lumber, and the plant there makes flooring. The species listed for the business are hickory, ash, yellow pine, red oak, white oak, sweetgum, blackgum and sycamore. Its pages also mention poplar, cherry, walnut and cypress. Lumber is kiln dried or air dried, and its products ship across the continental US and overseas. The company's motto is "A Tradition of Quality and Excellence." Oakcrest is not a timber buyer or a logging outfit. It does not buy standing timber or run logging crews, so it will not cut and haul a stand for you. It suits a landowner who wants to learn about the mill and flooring end of the hardwood trade.
