Woodpecker Sawmill is a sawmill at 55 Potts Ln. in Covington, Georgia, 30016. Owner Kenneth Batchelor, with his family, runs it as "a small, family oriented business." The mill's own line is that it can "turn logs into lumber hassle-free." The mill cuts yellow pine, white oak, red oak, maple, cedar and poplar. Its work includes roughsawn lumber and live edge slabs, kiln drying, and milled boards such as board and batten, tongue and groove, shiplap, V groove, Dutch lap and log cabin siding. It also offers select pressure treated options and takes both big and small orders. Once your lumber is cut, the mill can recommend people to install or build what you need. The business serves Newton County. There is no delivery. The mill loads the lumber, and you strap it down and haul it yourself. You can place an order by phone and they will let you know when it is ready for pickup. The mill is open Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, and closes for lunch from 11:45am to 12:45pm. For pricing, call 404-414-2041. This suits a landowner in Newton County with logs to turn into lumber who can come to Covington to pick it up. From woodpeckersawmillofcov.com, read 17 October 2026.
