Valley Wood Inc is a timber buyer based in Dallas, Georgia, with its office in Columbus. It also does consulting forestry and logging. It works across Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina, and Paulding County is named as its service county. The main job is buying standing timber, and it offers "top market value" for it. It has woodyards in Dallas, Coosa and Lafayette, and post mills in Summerville and Montrose. The timber it buys goes to paper pulp, chipwood and wood chips. Its other work includes timber cruises, timber appraisals, forest management plans, timber stand improvement, site prep, road construction, controlled burning, wildlife habitat work, logging and timber hauling. The usual run is that you talk through which harvest suits you, they set a time to cut, and they replant after the final harvest. The stated minimum is 20 acres. The business has been managing timberland since 1955. It is affiliated with the Georgia Forestry Commission, the American Tree Farm System, the Georgia Master Timber Harvester program, and state forestry associations in Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee and South Carolina, among others. It suits a landowner with at least 20 acres who wants one firm to appraise the timber, cut it and replant. From valleywoodforestry.com, read 17 October 2026.
