Timber Buyers & Forestry Professionals in Winnebago, IL

Greenwood Forestry Consulting is a forestry consulting business based in Winnebago, Illinois, run by Michael Woolery. He started Greenwood Forestry in 2005 and holds credentials as a TSP with the USDA, which lets him prepare plans for NRCS programs like EQIP. The work covers land management planning, timber sales and assessments, thinning, and tree planting. He also handles native seeding for pollinator habitat, food plot planning and installation, and planting prairie species. Plans are often prepared so landowners can enroll in state forestry or natural resource programs through the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. He serves northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin, with Winnebago County named as an area served. On the timber sales side, he lists current sales as they come up, such as a sale in Putnam County, Illinois, with an Invitation to Bid available for interested buyers. The site invites landowners to "find out how we can help improve your property," and notes that beyond the woods, "native pasture is something that we can help you accomplish." This fits a landowner in northern Illinois or southern Wisconsin who wants help with both a timber sale and the paperwork for a state or federal land program, not just a straight timber harvest.
