The company describes itself as "a leading custom hardwood component supplier to the furniture and cabinet industry." The work includes precision machined dimension and furniture parts, kitchen cabinet face frames, stiles and rails, drawer fronts, edge glued panels, cut to size blanks, and hardwood base mouldings, stretchers, parting rails, legs, arms and feet. Lumber comes in green from local mills, is air dried, then kiln dried before it goes through the rough mill and finish mill for cutting, shaping, and sanding. The only species named is hardwood. It serves Dubois County and is found in the Daviess County listings. The company was founded in 1940 in Jasper and is now run by the third generation of the same family. It says it is "small enough to provide individual attention to all customers no matter what their size," and takes on both small run jobs and truckload quantities. 8 businesses are listed for Dubois County: 0 consulting foresters and 8 buyers, loggers and mills. 8 of them have offices in the county.
How much is my timber worth in Dubois County?
Nobody can tell you what your timber is worth without walking it. Value depends on the species, the size and grade of the trees, how thickly they stand, the ground conditions and how easily a logger can reach them. Anyone who quotes you a figure without seeing the land is guessing, and a guess in that direction is rarely in your favour.
What stumpage value means →Do I need a forestry consultant to sell timber in Dubois County?
You do not have to use one. A consulting forester works for you rather than the buyer, marks the timber, runs a sealed-bid sale and typically charges a percentage of the sale. Research from several state extension services has found that timber sold through a consultant often returns enough more to cover the fee, though results vary by tract and by market. The decision usually turns on the size of the sale and whether you have sold timber before.
Do I need a forestry consultant? →What is timber worth in Dubois County?
No price series is published for Dubois County on its own. Indiana's latest published stumpage figures (Indiana Consulting Foresters, in the Indiana Woodland Steward, 2025) put hardwood timber sale, high quality at $1,294 per thousand board feet. What your own timber brings depends on the species, the size and amount of it, and how far it is from a mill. A timber cruise by a forester settles it.
