About Hood Lumber

Hood Lumber is a sawmill in Bogalusa, Louisiana, that cuts Southern Pine into lumber. It is one of the mills run by Hood Industries, Inc., a wood manufacturing and distribution company whose plants were merged into one company in 1986. The Bogalusa mill is at 21501 Highway 21 North, and its listed service area is Washington County. The mill makes Southern Pine Lumber, which is known for its strength, durability, treatability, and how well it holds fasteners. It is "a preferred choice among architects, builders, and homeowners." Hood Lumber can also arrange transportation, with truck and rail rates available on short notice. Customers can pick up at the mill, and the mill runs its own trucks. The Bogalusa mill is served by the CN railroad. Hood Industries supports responsible forest management, and its manufacturing operations are SFI certified. It suits a landowner in Washington County who wants to know what a Southern Pine sawmill makes and how its lumber gets to market. From hoodindustries.com, read 17 October 2026.
