We saw pine, hemlock, red oak, and mixed hardwoods, and sell to both wholesale and retail markets." Fred Heyes has also put conservation restrictions on company land held by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, part of a longer-term approach to managing the forest base. This fits a landowner in Franklin County who wants to sell standing timber or get a forestry plan done by a mill that also saws and dries its own lumber, rather than just brokering it.
