Timber Buyers & Forestry Professionals in Elmira, MI

Silver Leaf Sawmill is a timber buyer and sawmill out of Elmira, Michigan, family-owned and operating since 1995. They buy standing timber, offer forest management advice, and run their own mill, so the same outfit that walks your woods can also turn the logs into lumber. They work in Maple, Oak, Pine, Cherry, Ash, Poplar, and Basswood. Their process is simple: you call to schedule an on-site inspection, a timber buyer walks the property with you and points out what's ready to harvest, and if you accept the estimate they schedule the harvest itself, done with care to limit damage to the trees and ground left behind. They describe their approach as "a sustainable, responsible way for property owners to nurture a thriving forest." Their stated service area runs "from Empire to Alpena, Mackinaw City to Cadillac," and their listing covers Antrim County specifically. Beyond buying timber, they also mill their own lumber products, so if you're curious what becomes of the wood after it leaves your land, they can tell you. This fits a landowner in that part of Michigan who wants one business to both evaluate the trees and handle the harvest, especially someone who likes knowing the buyer also runs the mill end of things.
