About Southwest Michigan Timber Buyer
Southwest Michigan Timber Buyer is a timber-buying business based in Marcellus, Michigan. It buys hardwood trees from woodlots, working with landowners in Cass county and more broadly across Southwest Michigan and Northern Indiana. The work is straightforward: hardwood trees are what they're after, and they'll come out to look at your woodlot and talk through what it's worth. They won't take individual trees from yards or residential areas, so this is woodlot work, not yard work. Jobs they've handled have run from "as few as 15 trees on a couple acres" up to hundreds of trees on large acreage, so a couple of acres with some hardwoods on it is enough to be worth a call. There's no stated minimum acreage policy, but that smallest job gives you a sense of where they'll start. The person behind it grew up in Southwest Michigan and says he's built relationships with landowners across the Michigan and northern Indiana area over time. This fits a landowner with a modest hardwood woodlot in or near Cass county who wants someone local to come look at a few acres of trees, rather than a large operation set up for big tracts only.
