Timber Buyers & Forestry Professionals in Grand Rapids, MI

Michigan Forestry Company is a forestry consulting and logging outfit based in Holland, Michigan, working with landowners in Ottawa County. They handle the whole arc of a timber sale and forest management job, not just the cutting. Their work covers strategic harvests, forest management planning, and administering timber sales from start to finish. That includes the initial consultation, boundary marking, timber marking and scaling, preparing and soliciting bids, writing and managing the contract, and supervising the harvest itself. They also write forest management plans and help landowners enroll in programs like the Qualified Forest Program, Forest Stewardship Program, Commercial Forest Program, and NRCS plans. On the wildlife side, they plan for habitat, promote nut-producing trees, and work on invasive species control. Their mission, in their own words, is "exercising sustainable forest management on behalf of the landowner," done through harvests, planning, and timber sale administration. They describe themselves as having "over 15 years of forestry experience" aiming to meet landowner goals for their woodlots. This fits a landowner in Ottawa County who wants someone to run the entire timber sale process, from walking the property and setting goals through to supervising the actual harvest, rather than just getting a quote on standing timber.
