Timber Buyers & Forestry Professionals in Hale, MI

Northeast Michigan Forestry LLC is a consulting forestry business run by Jenilee Johnson, based in Tawas City, Michigan. Jenilee has been practicing consulting forestry since 2010, and before starting this company she trained and worked with another consulting forestry firm in the region. The work covers the full process of a timber sale: setting boundaries, marking trees for removal, figuring harvest volumes, then lining up a logger to do the cutting and staying on through to the end of the job. She also writes forest management plans, including Qualified Forest Plans, Forest Stewardship Plans, and USDA NRCS Forest Management Plans, and she can run a forest inventory or GIS mapping job if you just want to know what you have. She also does timber appraisals, so you can get a sense of what your timber might be worth before deciding anything. She says "I work for the landowner" and describes herself as working to "sustainably manage forests." She holds her MI Registered Forester credential, is a certified Oak wilt specialist, is certified by the Michigan DNR to prepare timber sales on State of Michigan land, and is a candidate member of the Association of Consulting Foresters. Timber sales are prepared across all the forest types found in Northern Michigan, with Iosco County named as an area served. This fits a landowner in or near Iosco County who wants one person to handle a timber sale start to finish, or who first wants a written forest management plan and an honest read on what their timber is worth before any decision gets made.
