Timber Buyers & Forestry Professionals in Waldron, MI

TRINE TIMBER Forestry Management is a timber buying and logging business based in Hillsdale, Michigan. They also do forestry consulting, offering free timber evaluations and free management plans alongside free quotes. They buy Walnut, White Oak, Hard Maple, Sugar Maple, Bur Oak, Red Oak, Black Oak, Hickory, and Soft Maple, and say they especially "need Walnut and White Oak" right now. An evaluation means someone walks your woods, looks at the health and maturity of your trees, and gives you a recommendation on what to harvest and when. From there you can get a management plan, which they describe as running anywhere from a 10 year plan to a 20 year plan depending on your woods. If you agree to a quote, you sign a contract, pay 10% down at signing, with the balance paid in full before the job starts. Terms can vary from job to job. They work across Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio and the surrounding states. They state they are licensed and insured, and certified in Sustained Forestry Initiatives (SFI), Best Management Practices (BMP), and Timber Stand Improvement (TSI). They note they do not remove residential trees. This fits a landowner in or near Hillsdale County with mature hardwoods, especially Walnut or White Oak, who wants a free look at what their timber is worth before deciding whether to sell, and who also wants a longer term plan for the woods rather than just a one time cut.
