About Louisiana Pacific Corp.

Louisiana Pacific Corp. is a manufacturer of engineered wood building products. It sells under the LP Building Solutions name and is in Minnesota, though its headquarters is in Nashville, Tennessee. The company was founded in 1972 and runs 26 plants across the U.S., Canada, Chile and Brazil. Its pages describe oriented strand board (OSB), siding, sheathing, subflooring and LP SmartSide trim and siding. Wood fiber is the primary raw material in every product it makes, so the company depends on what it calls "healthy, well-managed forests." Many of its mills draw on forests that have regrown after earlier use. It suits a Minnesota landowner who wants to know about the manufacturer that turns wood into building products, not one who needs a logger or a timber buyer for a stand of trees.
