About Manitou Forest Products

Manitou Forest Products is a saw mill in Emo, Ontario, set in the heart of Northwestern Ontario's boreal forest. It has been in business for over 20 years, turning out white and red pine products, kiln dried lumber, knotty pine paneling, timbers, cedar products and hardwood products for its customers. This is a mill that turns logs into finished wood products. It is not an outfit that comes to a woodlot to mark timber or run a harvest for a landowner. Its raw material comes from the pine, cedar and hardwood of the surrounding boreal forest, and its output is lumber, paneling and timbers rather than standing-timber purchases. Manitou Forest Products describes itself as "committed to the responsible use of nature's renewable resource," and says it has "ready access to climatically tempered raw materials" to produce its line of pine, cedar and hardwood goods. This suits someone looking for a northern Ontario mill that produces finished pine, cedar and hardwood lumber and paneling, rather than someone hoping for a company to buy standing timber or log a property directly.
