Timber Buyers & Forestry Professionals in Center Conway, NH

Garland Lumber Co. Inc. is a logging and forestry business based in Center Conway, New Hampshire, with offices in North Conway. The family has been at this since 1962, and the company itself was set up in 1975 as a full-time operation. It's still run by the Garland family today. They handle timber harvesting, forest management plans, timber appraisals and inventories, tree farm inspections, land clearing, and help with woodland protection. They have a licensed professional forester on staff, Karla Allen, who is also an American Tree Farm Inspector and a Technical Service Provider. She works alongside seven logging crews, so they can "mix and match" equipment and people to fit your land and what you're trying to do with it. They say they manage about 2,000 acres for sustainable forestry on an ongoing basis. Their own words: "We look at each client and their property individually and try to match their personal objectives to their land." Whether you want income now, a long-term plan, wildlife habitat, or just to keep the woods healthy, that seems to be how they start the conversation. They work in Carroll County and describe their service area as covering New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts, and Vermont. They also run their own trucking side, Garland Transportation, so wood moves off your land without you having to arrange a separate hauler. This fits a landowner who wants a forester involved in the harvest decision itself, not just a logger showing up with a crew, and who doesn't mind a company with some scale and history behind it.
