Timber Buyers & Forestry Professionals in Wilcox, PA

Forestwide, LLC is a forestry consulting and real estate firm based in St. Marys, Pennsylvania. They work with private landowners as well as industrial, governmental, and non-governmental groups, and they cover Pennsylvania, New York, and Ohio, with Elk County named as served. Their main work is timber sale administration: they mark and tally the trees, get an appraisal done to set a minimum bid, send the sale out to bidders, collect sealed bids, and then write and enforce a cutting contract once a sale is awarded, with inspections along the way to check on cleanup and compliance. Beyond timber sales, they do forest management plans, timber inventories and appraisals, oil and gas right-of-way work, forest regeneration, timber stand improvement, forest stewardship plans, disease and pest inspections, boundary line maintenance, forest mapping, wildlife habitat work, aerial reconnaissance, and herbicide and pesticide application. No tree species are named. They'll take on small parcels: "whether it's 1 acre or 1,000, selling it directly without representation can have unfortunate results." Their own words add that "you do not need to own or represent a large amount of forestland to utilize our services," and the initial consultation and on-site walk-through come at no charge. The founder, John J. Slinkosky, holds full membership in the Association of Consulting Foresters of America, plus certifications as a PA Forest Stewardship Plan Writer, PA Commercial Pesticide/Herbicide Applicator, American Tree Farm System Inspector, PA Wildland Firefighter, and USDA Technical Service Provider, and he's also an FAA licensed pilot. The firm has been operating for over 26 years. This one suits a landowner with just a few acres who wants someone to run the whole bidding and contract process rather than sell logs directly to a buyer. From forestwide.com, read 5 October 2026.
