Timber Buyers & Forestry Professionals in Evans, SC

Canal Wood LLC is a timber buying, logging and forestry business headquartered in Conway, South Carolina. It was founded in 1937. It says it "specializes in timber marketing and management for landowners" across the Southeast, and it serves South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama and Florida from dozens of field offices. Its foresters are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) for their forest management practices. The work usually starts with a consultation, where its foresters look at each stand of timber and talk through what the owner wants. From there it can do inspections, mapping, aerial and satellite photography, infrared photography to identify tree species, appraisals, harvest planning and the harvest itself, using contract loggers. It buys veneer logs, sawtimber, chip-n-saw, pulpwood and fuel chips, and it works with mixed hardwood and pine stands, pine plantations and bottomland hardwoods. It says it finds the best prices for each type of timber and then carries the wood to the mills. On size, its contact form lists 10 acres as the minimum. The smallest tract it shows as a job is a 10.03 acre mixed hardwood and pine stand that it has listed for sale. It suits a landowner who wants one company to handle buying, logging and forest management across several states, and who has at least 10 acres. From canalwood.com, read 3 October 2026.
