About Mid-South Timber Co LLC

Mid-South Timber Co LLC is an independent logging business in South Carolina. It buys standing timber and harvests it, and it also helps landowners with forest and wildlife management plans and with tree planting. The business serves Upstate South Carolina and the Southern Piedmont Region of North Carolina, and it names Darlington among the counties it covers. It has been helping landowners for over 25 years. Its crews take on a wide range of work, from delicate thinning jobs and residential or development cuts through to complete clear cuts. Every crew is insured and trained in Best Management Practices for soil and water quality. The firm uses portable logging bridges and water bars so your land is left in "equal or better condition" than when the logging started. Wildlife and the look of the land are also considered during the harvest. The owner, Jeff Johnson, CF, is a registered forester in both North and South Carolina and a Certified Forester through the Society of American Foresters. He completes 20 hours of continuing education each year. This one suits a landowner who wants a forester involved from start to finish, whether the job is a light thinning, a full clear cut, or a plan for wildlife and replanting.
