Born Again Heartwoods
About Born Again Heartwoods
Born Again Heartwoods is a business in Hollywood, South Carolina, serving Charleston County. It is listed as a portable miller and also lists sawmill and logging work. Most of its wood comes from sinker logs. Its pages describe these logs as lost to the "untamed bottomland swamps and rivers," and the business recovers them from the rivers, swamps and lakes of the state. The species it names are sinker cypress, red pine, heartwood pine, spalted pecan, walnut and mahogany, sold as logs and lumber. The work covers custom milling, rough-cut lumber, beams, T&G flooring, paneling and siding. It also makes table and bar top slabs, custom furniture, lighting fixtures and conference tables. For longleaf heart pine, it says it recovers only logs with at least 10 growth rings per inch, and most of what it recovers goes over 15. The office is open Monday to Friday, 8:30 to 5:00, and the phone number is 843.696.4490. This suits a landowner with sunken sinker logs, or old heart pine or cypress, who wants it milled or turned into finished wood. From bornagainheartwoods.com, read 16 October 2026.
