About Moores Mobile Milling

Moores Mobile Milling is a portable sawmill operation in Walhalla, South Carolina, serving Oconee County. It mostly brings a mill to your land and saws your logs there. It also does skidsteer work, custom carpentry, and other jobs, including land clearing, driveway repair, firewood processing, and handyman work. For a milling job, the mill rate is $100 an hour. The clock starts when the mill arrives and stops after the last cut and the mill is clear, with a three-hour minimum. Travel from Walhalla is billed at $2.00 a minute one way on each day worked. Before you call, the business asks for pictures of your logs, the mill location, and where the stacks will go. The species it lists are poplar, hardwoods, siding, and structural lumber. It keeps siding, hardwoods, and structural lumber on hand for sale. It will also saw logs you deliver to its Walhalla location for $100 an hour, with a one-hour minimum. The business says it can work in "off-road and off-grid locations" and can travel long distances and stay remote, with pricing varying for those jobs. It also says it enjoys sawing live edge slabs and will advise you on getting the best slabs from each log. This suits a landowner who wants a mill brought to the woods, is comfortable with hourly billing, and has poplar or hardwood logs to turn into lumber on site.
