Morris Timber Co., Inc. is a timber buying, logging, and forestry business based in Bullard, Texas. Larry Morris started it in 1982 with one logging crew. His son Matt Morris took over in 2004 and renamed it Morris Timber Holdings, Inc. Today it operates in 23 counties in East Texas and serves Western Louisiana as well, with 15 logging crews. It buys timber from tracts starting at twenty-five acres and running up to several thousand acres, and it sells that timber to a large range of lumber mills. It also does logging, forestry consulting, and timber management plans, including help with the agricultural tax exemption known as the 1-d-1 Timber Land Appraisal. Its subsidiary, Morris Land Brokers, handles buying and selling farmland, timberland, and hunting land. A job starts with a free on-site consultation.
