JL Custom Sawing

About JL Custom Sawing

JL Custom Sawing is a family-owned sawmill in Chatham, Virginia, at 2761 Walkers Well Rd. It serves Pittsylvania County and can be reached at (434) 432-0198. The owner has over twenty years of working with wood. The mill saws hardwood and softwood, including red cedar and pine. Its work includes custom sawing from your logs or its own, precision cut lists for whole projects, custom lumber packages for small builds, timber framing beams, trailer decking, board and batten siding, stakes and fencing, live edge and specialty cuts, and slab wood. It also makes picnic tables, timber frame pavilions and porches, raised bed lumber, and rustic furniture from pine and tulip poplar, and it sells sawdust. Its own words are "Custom sawing from your logs or ours," so you can bring your own logs or have it cut from logs it has. It is buying logs. If you have logs to sell, call and make a deal. The mill will go over how different species behave and which cuts would serve a project best before any wood is cut. This suits a landowner with a few logs who wants them sawn for a small build or sold to a local buyer. From plainplaces.com, read 17 October 2026.
