About B&H Wood products
B&H Wood products is a stake mill at 295 Heflin Road in Stafford, Virginia, about halfway between Richmond and Washington, D.C. It makes stakes for engineering, silt fence and other erosion control products, landscaping, and concrete forms. The stakes are cut from hardwood, and the species named are oak, hickory, ash and maple. The business has operated since 1957. Josh Berry owns it today. He is a fourth generation lumberman and the third in his family to run the company. The family story goes back to his grandfather, who started making engineering stakes as a boy from the scrap pile at his father's sawmill. In 2006 the mill moved into a new facility with capacity for about 9 trailer loads of stakes a week. The mill serves smaller retail customers within about 50 miles of Stafford and larger wholesale customers across the mid-Atlantic states. Its trucks run from pickup size up to tractor-trailers, so it fills both small and large orders. The mill is open Monday through Thursday from 7 am to 5 pm, Friday from 7 am to 11 am, and closed on weekends. The phone number is 540-752-2480. This one suits a landowner with oak, hickory, ash or maple who wants a local mill that makes stakes and erosion control products. From bhwoodproducts.com, read 17 October 2026.
