Meister Log & Lumber

About Meister Log & Lumber

Meister Log & Lumber is a hardwood mill in Reedsburg, Wisconsin. It has been harvesting timber since 1939, and its mill was completely rebuilt during 2003 and 2004 with newer machinery and equipment. It saws green lumber and sells low grade lumber, along with chips and sawdust. The business buys timber from landowners. In its own words, it will "purchase all northern hardwood species," which covers veneer logs, sawlogs, timber, and timberlands. Its harvesting has reached into southwestern Wisconsin, southern Minnesota, northern Illinois, and Iowa, and its service area includes Sauk County. Zack Sobczak is the resource manager for timber and the log sales manager, so he is the person to ask about a sale. It suits a Sauk County landowner with hardwood timber to sell, whether that is veneer logs, sawlogs, or a stand of timber, who would like a Wisconsin mill close to home to handle the sale.
