Timber Buyers & Forestry Professionals in Wittenberg, WI

Tigerton Lumber Company is a sawmill in Tigerton, Wisconsin that also buys timber and offers forestry consulting. They've been family owned and operated since 1887, working out of northern Wisconsin's hardwood country. They buy standing timber and cut logs, run woods assessments and timber cruises, do timber marking, and manage harvests from layout through site closeout. They work in Hard Maple, Soft Maple, Red Oak, White Oak, White Ash, Cherry, White Birch, Yellow Birch, Basswood, Hickory, and Elm. Their foresters mark trees by species, quality and spacing, and they say "no clear-cutting," relying on selective cutting instead. Logging and trucking crews are "Fully insured logging and trucking contractors." They serve Shawano County and say their staff knows the forest tax law programs across the Great Lakes Region, including Wisconsin's MFL and FCL programs and Michigan's QFP and CFA programs. They do not do timber appraisals for tax purposes. This fits a landowner in Shawano County who wants one outfit to buy the timber, mark it, and run the harvest, from a mill that has stayed in the same family for well over a century.
