Paul Bunyan Saw Mill
About Paul Bunyan Saw Mill
Paul Bunyan Saw Mill is a mobile sawmill that serves Nevada County and the surrounding area in California. The mill is mounted on a trailer and comes to your property, so you don't haul heavy logs anywhere. The operator sets up on site, cuts your logs to the dimensions you want, and stacks the lumber so it cures and dries straight. Cuts include beams, slabs, and boards, up to 34 inches wide and 21 feet long. The business's own words put it this way: "We bring the mill to you." Milling is billed at $175 an hour, which covers the mill, the operator, a stacking assistant, fuel, and blades. A site visit costs $40 and comes first, so they can check that the trailer can reach your logs and talk through any site prep. Bookings have a 4-hour minimum. Jobs more than 30 minutes outside Nevada City carry a travel charge, billed at the hourly rate round trip. Hidden metal such as nails or fencing can ruin a blade, and a replacement blade costs $45. They do not clean up sawdust, bark, or mill ends. Paul Bunyan Saw Mill suits a landowner with trees already down on their land who would rather have usable lumber than firewood. It's a good fit for someone who wants the wood milled where it lies and stacked to dry. From paulbunyansawmill.com, read 4 October 2026.
