Sawatch Home & Hut

About Sawatch Home & Hut

Sawatch Home & Hut is a mill in Nathrop, Colorado. It runs a portable sawmill, a Wood-mizer, that turns locally sourced pine and spruce into "custom-built projects." The mill can handle logs up to 41 inches in diameter. Most of its output is rough-sawn. That covers graded lumber, counter top slabs, siding, live-edge custom pieces, and other custom products. If you want a slab with the bark edge left on for a table or bench, this is the kind of work it does. Because the mill is portable, it can reach timber in remote sites across the state. This suits a landowner with pine or spruce in a stand that is hard to get to, who wants the logs sawn into lumber, slabs, or custom pieces.
