About Alstat Wood Products (AWP)
Alstat Wood Products (AWP) is a sawmill in Du Quoin, Illinois. They work in southern Illinois and serve Perry County. This isn't a mill set up to buy your standing timber or run a timber sale. They specialize in crane mats, selling 8 inch and 12 inch mats that run from 16 feet up to 30 feet long. Beyond that, they sell slab and block firewood cut short, long slabs from 8 to 16 feet, and sawdust for horses and cattle. In their own words, "We are sawmill in southern Illinois that specializes in crane mats." If you're a landowner trying to find someone to walk your woods, mark timber, or handle a harvest, this isn't that kind of operation based on what they describe. This is a place to call if you need crane mats for a job site, want firewood by the slab or block, or need sawdust for your barn. Worth knowing about if your needs run toward wood products rather than a standing timber sale. From alstatwoodproducts.com, read 10 October 2026.
