Henson & Sons Milling

About Henson & Sons Milling

Henson & Sons Milling is a family run sawmill and lumber yard in Nelson, Illinois, serving Lee County. They work with fresh cut lumber and firewood, offering milling services, custom cut lumber, and custom wood projects, along with firewood, sawdust, and smoking chips. If you have logs to mill or an idea for a project, you bring it to the mill and talk it through with them there. They describe their custom cut lumber as priced "even Menards can't beat," and they invite people to "come on down and check out the mill" to see what they can do with it. Beyond milling, they sell bagged sawdust and smoking chips, and firewood by the half or full trailer load, with delivery for a fee. This fits a landowner near Lee County who wants lumber milled to order or a custom wood project built, rather than someone looking to sell standing timber or have trees logged off their land.
