Sevits Logging LLC

About Sevits Logging LLC

Sevits Logging LLC is an independent logging and timber buying business based in Fremont, Indiana. It's family owned and run by Joe Sevits, who is the fourth generation of his family to work in the tree industry. The work covers timber harvesting, selective cutting, land clearing, forestry mulching, storm damage cleanup, sustainable forest management, whitetail habitat development, and brush and deadwood removal. Species they mention working with include oak, walnut, maple, ash, and cottonwood. A sale or job starts with a free on site estimate, and from there a landowner can choose either a flat cash price or a revenue sharing arrangement based on what the timber is worth. Joe holds an Indiana Timber Buyer's License and is listed as a state licensed timber buyer. The business is based in Steuben County and serves northeast Indiana, southwest Michigan, and northwest Ohio, naming towns across all three states as far out as several hours' drive from Fremont. There's no stated minimum acreage for a job, so a landowner with a smaller lot would need to ask directly whether it's worth a visit. This fits a landowner in northeast Indiana or the nearby Michigan and Ohio counties who wants one family crew to handle a timber sale from the first walk through the woods to the final cut, with "honest work" as the stated approach and a licensed buyer standing behind the price.
