About Indianola Sawmill and IDry Kiln

Indianola Sawmill and IDry Kiln is a working sawmill in Indianola, Iowa. They mill logs to order and dry the lumber themselves before it leaves the shop. They cut logs up to 36 inches in diameter and 17 feet long, "custom milled to your specifications." The wood they work with is black walnut and cherry. Once it's sawn, lumber goes through their own IDry vacuum kiln, which they say "dries lumber in days instead of months, for perfectly dried lumber every time," bringing it down to 10% or less moisture content, with moisture meters on hand so you can check a piece yourself. From there they also do custom woodworking out of their own milled and dried stock, building dining tables, benches, beds, mantels, and entry doors. To get started you call or text and talk through what you have, whether it's a single log or a full trailer load, and they offer pickup and delivery. They serve Warren County. This is a mill and kiln, not a timber buyer, so it suits a landowner who already has logs down or standing timber cut, and wants those logs turned into dried lumber or finished furniture rather than sold as standing timber.
