Jones Cypress LLC

About Jones Cypress LLC

Jones Cypress LLC is a small cypress sawmill in Batchelor, Louisiana. The mill cuts and sells cypress lumber, posts and beams, and it also makes millwork such as flooring, tongue and groove, baseboard and door and window trim. Roger and Chad Jones, father and son, run it as a two man operation. Both were carpenters and cabinet builders, and they bought the mill in 1999 because good lumber was getting hard to find for their own orders. The mill produces sinker cypress, pecky cypress, clear cypress and antique heart pine, and it kiln dries lumber. Its main goal is to produce cypress posts and beams "up to 26 feet long" for new or existing homes and businesses. A computer controlled sawmill setworks makes the cuts, and the owners say buying direct from the mill keeps prices lower than at lumber retail stores. The mill serves customers across Louisiana, naming Baton Rouge, Lafayette, Innis, St. Francisville and Alexandria. You can reach them at (318) 359-8061 or at 6314 Highway 1 in Batchelor. This business suits a landowner who needs cypress posts, beams or lumber for a building project and wants a family mill that has been cutting cypress since 1999.
