Hunt Forest Products is a mill and plywood plant in Pollock, Louisiana. It makes plywood, veneer and clean chips from Southern Yellow Pine, and it has been creating quality products since 1978. The plant sits about fifteen miles north of Alexandria, just off U.S. Highway 165. Its forestry offices are in Ruston, Choudrant, Olla and Pollock, and the county it names as its area is Grant. The company's timber procurement and logging departments supply its plants, and most of that wood comes from private landowners. Its foresters write harvest plans for timber bought from landowners, and those plans include the state's best management practices. Landowners can also join the LMAP program, which gives technical forestry help with a forest management plan and a computer generated map of each tract.
