Timber Buyers & Forestry Professionals in Poland, ME

Maine Custom Woodlands is a timber harvesting and forest management company in Durham, Maine. They've been in business since 1993, working across Southern, Central, and Midcoast Maine, including Androscoggin County. They handle the whole job in-house, from the first lot walk to final cleanup. A licensed forester walks your property, talks over your goals, and puts together a harvest plan and proposal. If you go ahead, they flag the property lines themselves, so you don't need to hire a surveyor. Their crew then runs the harvest, which can be improvement thinning, a shelterwood or diameter limit harvest, or a clear cut, depending on what fits your woodlot. Species they mention working with include fir, spruce, cedar, and hemlock. Afterward, their own excavation crew comes back to smooth out the trails and landing. They also offer forestry mowing, grinding, and excavation work like driveways, ponds, and septic systems as separate services. They say they work with the Maine Natural Areas Program to check for endangered species or sensitive habitat before cutting. They ask for at least 20 wooded acres to take on a timber harvesting project. One landowner they worked with, in Woodstock, had about 50 acres and said the crew "always responded quickly to questions" and sent "detailed information about the trees' processing each week." This fits a landowner with a decent-sized wooded lot in Southern, Central, or Midcoast Maine who wants one company to handle the cutting, the paperwork, and the cleanup without bringing in outside contractors.
