About Winwood Sawmill LLC

Winwood Sawmill LLC runs a sawmill, lumberyard, and woodworking shop at 1 Old Gardner Rd in Winchendon, Massachusetts. They work by appointment, so you call or message before visiting. Their main business is custom sawmilling: they turn logs into slabs and lumber, either at their Winchendon facility or out at your property. Most customers haul their own logs in. They cut on a thin-kerf band sawmill that handles logs up to 36 inches across, and they run an industrial planer for boards and slabs up to 25 inches wide. Beyond sawing, they offer kiln drying, resawing, planing, drum and stroke sanding, and general consultations if you just want to know what you've got or what a dead tree might become. They handle more than twenty species, among them black walnut, hickory, white and red oak, hard and soft maple, cherry, white pine, and ash. They say "over 95% of our wood inventory is sourced from Massachusetts tree service companies," and they serve Worcester County and beyond. They also sell finished lumber, slabs, and some built items like tables and mantels straight from their yard. The business describes itself this way: "We transform Massachusetts trees for projects throughout Ma and beyond." This fits a landowner who already has logs down, or standing trees coming down soon, and wants them sawn into usable lumber or slabs rather than sold as a timber harvest. It's less suited to someone wanting a standing-timber sale or a forestry consult on acreage still growing. From winwoodsawmill.com, read 8 October 2026.
