About Cole Forest Products LLC

Cole Forest Products LLC is a logging contractor and timber buyer based in Lincoln, Michigan. They've been assisting Michigan's landowners since 1988. They handle the whole timber harvest themselves, from walking your property to cutting and buying the wood to hauling it out, so "you'll never have to deal with a middle man." Scott Cole does the property assessments in person and lays out a harvesting plan based on what you want from the land. They work with ash, basswood, beech, cherry, hickory, maple, oak, pine, and walnut, and will do either select cuts or clear cuts depending on what fits your woods. They'll also look at downed trees after a storm on a case by case basis, and they sell hardwood firewood by the cord, with free delivery to Iosco, Alcona, Arenac, Oscoda, and Ogemaw counties. They offer free estimates and say "we avoid over-harvesting," with the idea of keeping a woodland producing timber over the years rather than taking it all in one pass. They log year-round, including winter, since some ground is easier to reach once the wet months pass and the frost sets in. They are licensed and insured, and their service area covers all of Northeast Michigan, with Alcona County among the counties they've worked in. This fits a landowner who wants one outfit to assess, cut, and buy the timber without bringing in a separate buyer, and who wants a say in whether the woods get a light select cut or a full clear cut.
