Heim Hand Crafted Log Homes
About Heim Hand Crafted Log Homes
Heim Hand Crafted Log Homes is a log home builder in Bemidji, Minnesota, and has been in business for 30 years. It buys raw Norway (Red) Pine "cabin logs" from loggers working in the woods and trucks them to its prefabrication yard in Kelliher, Minnesota. There the logs are hand peeled with high power pressure washers, left to dry, and fit by hand into walls, trusses and log roof systems using full scribe methods. It does no milling of its logs. Norway (Red) Pine is the main species. Depending on project size, it also uses northern white cedar, white pine, white spruce and western red cedar. Each home is fully built at the yard, tagged and numbered, taken down, shipped to the site and reassembled in one to four days. Other services include log furniture, reassembly and consultation. Completed homes are shown in the Bemidji and Beltrami County area, including a log model in Kelliher. It is a good fit for a Beltrami County landowner with mature Red Pine who wants those trees to end up in a handcrafted home. The logs come through loggers working in the woods, so the path to a sale runs through a logger. From heimloghomes.com, read 8 October 2026.
