About Green Forest Inc.
Green Forest Inc. is a family-owned sawmill at 4860 Highway 71 North in Littlefork, Minnesota, near the Canadian border. It has operated since 1960 and works only with northern white cedar. The mill saws rough sawn cedar lumber in custom widths and thicknesses, along with tongue and groove paneling. It also makes fence pickets, fence posts, rails, and cedar mulch. The cedar is sourced locally from northern Minnesota forests and is described as responsibly harvested. The mill says it aims to "use every piece of the tree." Premium boards become fencing, sawdust heats the facility, and the tops are sold to log furniture manufacturers. Its products ship statewide across Minnesota, and it names customers in Texas, Kansas, Indiana, Missouri, and Iowa as well. The phone number is (218) 278-6691. Green Forest Inc. suits a northern Minnesota landowner with northern white cedar who wants a nearby mill that uses the whole tree, and who plans to ask the mill directly whether it takes logs from private land.
