About Sturgis Mat Co Inc
Sturgis Mat Co Inc is a sawmill and mat maker in Ackerman, Mississippi. It also buys timber and does logging, and it serves Choctaw County. The business has been operating for more than 40 years and is now in its third generation in timber and mat production. "Fine mats begin as fine timber." The firm buys the timber, harvests it, saws the logs, and builds the mats itself, so it handles every step from the stand to the finished product. The mats are made from oak hardwood. The products are logging mats, pipeline mats, dragline mats, and pipeline skids. Custom work is also offered, with mats 12 to 22 feet long, 4 feet wide, and any thickness, built to the customer's need. This suits a landowner with oak hardwood on the ground who wants one firm to buy the timber, cut it, and build the mats, or who needs mats made to dimensions of their own.
