About Land Trust for the Mississippi Coastal Plain
The Land Trust for the Mississippi Coastal Plain is a non-profit organization in Biloxi, Mississippi. It works across southern Mississippi to conserve and manage land for plants, animals and people. It is a land conservation trust, not a timber buyer, logging company or tree service, so it does not buy timber, log land or offer tree care. It has protected over 10,000 acres of land in southern Mississippi. It works to save land that is vulnerable to change from its natural state, and it improves property degraded by invasive species, misuse and neglect. Its stewardship director leads crews and contractors on habitat restoration projects. The group also runs community grants, memorial tree planting, and outdoor access for individuals, students and families. Its work covers the six counties of the Mississippi Coastal Plain. The group describes its aim as "to conserve and manage land for plants, animals and people." Its stewardship director, Nick Goyette, holds a bachelor's degree in biology and is working toward a master's in natural resource management. This one suits a landowner who wants habitat restoration, invasive species work or permanent protection of green space, not a timber sale. From ltmcp.org, read 18 October 2026.
