Shuqualak Lumber Company
About Shuqualak Lumber Company
Shuqualak Lumber Company is a sawmill and timber buyer in Shuqualak, Mississippi. The family has run it since 1948, and the company describes itself as "Family Owned." It takes log deliveries at its sawmill, sells lumber, and buys timber and timberland. The timber buying side has its own team. The procurement group includes a procurement manager and a forester, so standing timber is handled by people whose job it is. Because the mill, the lumber sales and the timber buying all sit under one name, a landowner can deal with one company from the first walk of the land to the delivery of logs. The company puts a lot of weight on service. Its own pages say that when a customer is in a jam, it will do "whatever we can to help," from rush orders to partial loads. Customers can call during business hours, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM Central time, for answers, advice and support. It suits a landowner who wants a long-running Mississippi mill that also buys timber and is set up to handle log deliveries, lumber sales and timber purchases in one place.
