Wallace Lumber Co
About Wallace Lumber Co
Wallace Lumber Co is a family-run sawmill business in Summit, Mississippi, in Amite County. It started with a single sawmill and has grown into a network of four. Mark Wallace built the first mill from the ground up, and the family still runs the operation. The mills produce rough-cut lumber, timbers, pallet cants, laminated mats, timber mats, crane mats, and hardwood mats. The company supplies the heavy equipment, construction, and oil and gas exploration industries nationwide, and it describes its mats as "premium hardwood mats." David Wallace joined the mill full-time in 2020 as Vice President of Mill Operations, and Alex Price has been with the company since 2019 as Vice President of Business Operations. The office is at 6521 County Line Rd., Summit, Mississippi 39666, and the phone number is 601-276-2834. Hours are Monday through Thursday, 7:00 to 4:30, and Friday, 7:00 to 3:00. This suits a landowner who wants to know a Summit mill that makes hardwood lumber, timbers, and mats, and who runs it, before deciding where logs might go.
