About Lumber Specialists Inc.
Lumber Specialists Inc. is a lumber wholesaler based in Ellisville, Missouri, in St. Louis County. It has been in business since 1989. This is not a sawmill buying standing timber off your land. It sources full-truckload commodity and specialty lumber, boards, dimension lumber and timbers, panels, OSB, plywood and sheathing, and exotic hardwoods, both domestic and imported, and supplies it to manufacturers, remanufacturers, millwork fabricators, and industrial buyers across North America. The work it takes on includes "specialty species", "unusual dimensions", "custom specs", and full-truckload volume. It also handles the shipping and logistics around those orders, including LTL, truckload, and carload freight. Its own words describe the draw this way: "we've built something most distributors don't bother with: real relationships with sawmills, treaters, remanufacturers, and importers across the U.S. and internationally." That network is what lets it source material other distributors turn away. Its customers aren't picking up lumber at a yard. They're running production lines, fabricating finished products, and managing supply chains, ordering at scale on a schedule rather than buying a one-off load. This fits a manufacturer or industrial buyer who needs a dependable truckload of specialty lumber, not a landowner looking for someone to come cut and buy the timber standing on their acres.
