East Perry Lumber Co. is a sawmill in Frohna, Missouri. They buy standing timber and logs, run their own logging crews, and mill the hardwood themselves. They've been at it since 1945, when Marvin F. Petzoldt founded the company as a small portable mill making railroad ties and barn lumber. If you've got hardwood timber to sell, they want 10 or more acres before they'll come look. They work in hardwood only. Their foresters are degreed, and their logging crews trained through the Missouri Forest Products Association Professional Timber Harvester Program, with a combined 70 years of experience between them. They say every landowner has different goals, whether that's wildlife management, long or short term financial planning, or converting land use, and they'll meet with you to talk through how a harvest fits those goals. They pull raw material from a 100 mile radius, and they're also buying already-harvested hardwood logs out of Southeast Missouri, Southern Illinois, Western Kentucky, and Western Tennessee. On the milling side they do kiln drying, finish surfacing to any thickness, straight line ripping, mixed truckloads, heavy duty shrink wrapping, export prep, and container loading, so they're set up for buyers beyond just the local market.
