Walnut Timber Buyers is listed in Arthur County, Nebraska, and shown there as a timber buyer and independent logger. Their own pages give an address in Beardstown, Illinois, and describe the outfit plainly: "WE ARE AN INDUSTRIAL LOGGING COMPANY THAT BUYS BULK TIMBER FROM FARMS AND HUNTING LAND." They work with farms, hunting land, and recreational property. They buy standing walnut, white oak, red oak, hickory, ash, maple, and black oak. The work goes in steps: they mark out which trees are worth the most, get property lines marked, fell the chosen trees with care, grade roads to haul and gather the timber, clean up behind themselves, then find a buyer, pay you, and move the wood off your land. They call this their Select Harvest method. Appraisals are free. They say they are licensed timber buyers and carry insurance, and that they have worked with landowners and importers across Illinois and Missouri for the past 30 years, running out of a yard in Beardstown within about 300 miles, reaching into central and eastern Missouri as well. On size, they don't set a minimum in acres. Their own words are direct: "At this time we are only considering projects of 20 or more mature trees." So this fits a landowner whose woods have a real stand of timber on them, not a handful of yard trees, and who wants one company to handle the cutting, the selling, and the hauling in a single pass. Hayes Logging, LLC is a logging and land clearing outfit based in Hadley, NY. They've been at this for a while, over 40 years as a family business now in its fourth generation, working the trees around Hadley, Glens Falls, Hudson Falls, Fort Edward, Corinith, Allentown and Lake Luzerne. Their main work is logging and timber harvesting, along with land clearing and firewood delivery. They describe the logging side as being able to "clear cut or outright remove trees from your property to promote healthy growth and harvest timber for your personal use." They say they'll take on "any plot, any size." A job typically starts with a free consultation on your property, and they say they work with landowners "every step of the way" while trying to stay ecologically friendly as they go. Beyond cutting and clearing, they also deliver firewood, so if you end up with wood you don't want to split yourself, that's part of what they offer. No species or species mix is named, and there's no mention of licensing or insurance, so you'd want to ask about that directly if it matters to you. This one fits a landowner near Hadley or the surrounding towns who wants a local, long-running family crew to handle logging, clear some ground, or just get a load of firewood delivered, without needing a big formal bid process to get started. Questions landowners ask

How many independent loggers are there in Nebraska?

9 are listed on TimberClear, sourced from the Nebraska forestry register, covering 5 counties between them.

How do I choose between them?

Start local and get more than one. A business based in your county knows the mills and the ground; one registered for all one hundred counties may be three hours away. Every listing here shows how far its office is from the county you are looking at, so "will travel" is never mistaken for "is local". TimberClear has not vetted, verified or endorsed anybody on this site.
