Timber Buyers & Forestry Professionals in Andover, NJ

Ridge & Valley Forest Management Services is a forestry consulting outfit working out of Augusta, New Jersey, with an office on US-Route 206. The business has been "managing healthy, productive, sustainable forests in northern New Jersey since 1979." This isn't a logging crew. The work here is consulting and planning: forest management plans, forest stand improvement, invasive species control, and help with Farmland Assessment paperwork for owners whose woodlot is more than half wooded. On the invasive species side, the team holds Commercial Applicator Licenses to spray herbicide on species like autumn olive, multiflora rose, and Japanese barberry, and they note that "the best time to treat invasive plants is before they take over your entire woodlot." The staff carries real paper: Approved Forester status in New Jersey, Certified Tree Farm Inspector, and membership in both the Society of American Foresters and the NJ Forest Association. The company serves Sussex County and is also found in Warren County records. Hours are by appointment only, and services beyond the four listed are still being filled out on their own site. This fits a landowner in northern New Jersey who wants a written forest management plan, help qualifying for Farmland Assessment, or invasive plants pushed back before they take over the understory, rather than someone looking to get trees cut and hauled right away.
