Ridel Portable Sawmill
About Ridel Portable Sawmill
Ridel Portable Sawmill is a portable sawmill service based in East Hartland, Connecticut, working across Connecticut and into parts of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and other nearby New England areas. Founded by Corey Ridel and his team, they bring the mill right to your property instead of making you haul logs out. The work covers portable sawmilling, rough sawn lumber, wood flooring, rough cut siding and rafters, trailer decking and side boards, custom pre-built sheds and run-ins, and sawmill bandsaw blade sharpening. They cut oak, pine, maple, ash, cherry, and other species, using a Wood-Mizer LT50WIDE that handles logs up to 41 inches wide and 21 feet long. For space, they ask for enough room to set up the truck and mill, about 50 feet, and they'll walk you through how to stack and stage your logs before milling day. Dimensions are custom cut to what you need, whether that's boards, beams, siding, or slabs, and they also sell rough sawn lumber from their own stock if you don't have logs of your own. There's no stated minimum tract size or job size for this one. No pricing is listed either, but they note a free estimate with "no hidden costs" once they know what you're working with. This one suits a landowner with a few logs or a small stand who wants someone to bring a mill to the property, cut to their own dimensions, and talk through wood choice and finishing options along the way, rather than someone looking to sell standing timber outright.
